Ôter - Melbourne
Ôter
Description
Ôter is an elegant French restaurant located in Melbourne's CBD, founded by Tom Hunter, Kate and Mykal Bartholomew, and helmed by renowned French chef Flo Gerardin. The name ôter, which means "to remove" or "take off," reflects the restaurant's minimalist dining experience. Gerardin's menu features French classics with a focus on simplicity and high-quality ingredients, inspired by his love for Japanese culinary traditions. The restaurant offers a refined atmosphere with a dedicated bar serving handcrafted cocktails and freshly shucked oysters. Online reservations are recommended, although limited walk-in spaces are available for those seeking a spontaneous dining experience.

Feedback
Excellent wine and food, the restaurant is nice and spacious, great staff who are attentive without being overly so.
Outstanding contemporary French restaurant located just off busling Flinders Lane Our group of five had a wonderful night here.
We were seated at the counter where we could see the chefs preparing the food in the kitchen. We enjoyed the inventive and high-quality dishes. The wine list, while small, was interesting and the cocktails were excellent. However, we felt that the service did not quite live up to the high standard of the food.
