On a solo work/holiday trip to Melbourne was recommended this bar by my Airbnb host. Lived up to the recommendation, popped myself at the end of the bar and enjoyed a perfectly mixed negroni with an antipasto plate the highlight of plate was some pickled broccoli hearts and some top notch olive oil. Followed this with a cerviche of travelli with jalapeños and herb salad. Perfect mix of fish, heat and herb, washed down with a Riesling that matched perfectly. Staff attentive enough.
This is a cool (small) bar in the trendy Fitzroy North area of Melbourne. Walking distance from my cousin's apartment, it is a great place to hang out, have drinks
You'll have to elbow your way through the packed crowds of thick-rimmed glasses, skinny jeans and Oxford shirts if you come on a Friday or Saturday night but its worth it!Our cocktails (Negronis) were excellent, and the light tapas-style food was adventurous, interesting and flavoursome. Not the cheapest eats either, but quality costs. Just don't come feeling too hungry - the serving sizes are on the small size, and really made to accompany the wine and cocktails more than to fill you up. Perfect place for a drink and a light snack before you head out elsewhere, or perhaps a quick one the way home.
There is a cinema available for rent here, which costs around $20. You have the freedom to choose what you want to watch. Although food is not served at the cinema, you have the option to bring your own.
