This was a small cute space with fire place going (was a wet Melbourne day) we got a seat near fire. Took a long time for someone to bring a menu, and once we got them they were very used, worn etc... (menu)...I might sound petty but these are things I notice. The salt shaker on table were not clean. The feel of the cafe was nice but could be improved. My coffee was strong but nice, however my partner had a mug which... View all feedback.
What Michelle Stuart doesn't like about Johnny Pump:
I had the chicken Turkish bread sandwich it was tasty. My Mum had the Apple wood Smoked bacon sandwich though it was tasty it was very sloppy to eat. My son had the Nutella Fudge desert shake and it was tasteless. Couldn't taste much chocolate and couldn't taste any hazelnut it is mostly just cream from a can. He was pretty disappointed considering its a 12 shake. View all feedback.
Johnny pump is a fine family-style restaurant that they would find in a wealthy new yorker quarter. the menu is diverse, but it is best known for its steaks that are juicy and delicous. johnny! pump iseasy to find, it is located in fletcher. st., directly from the tram stop Essendon.
Could not have a more friendly staff. What a pleasant afternoon. The food is lovely and the service impecable. Lovely cafe!
I came for burgers and shakes, and as usual, the meal and the service by the staff was excellent. Nothing was too difficult for the staff to arrange. They even split the giant burger in half for us. The only thing that they couldn 't split...was the bill. This was particularly disappointing given it is 2019 and the old standby of 'we don 't split bills ' has well and truly seen it 's day. As annoying as this is, a straight 50/50 split is able to be processed by the computer used, but was refused unless half was cash. Above all of this, my main annoyance with the lack of bill splitting, is there is still a credit card surcharge. If the surcharge exists, the excuse of 'we don 't split bills ' to avoid the operator charge is redundant. Fix this, and it will go from an 'almost there ' dining experience to '100% satisfied '
I really like this place. It has an excellent menu with lots of options and excellent coffee. Service is friendly and food well presented and interesting.
I was looking forward to enjoying a delicious burger and shake combo at Johnny Pump as the reviews had such hype about the place but was totally underwhelmed by the experience. I ordered the fried chicken burger with slaw and the caramel popcorn and oreo...dessert shake. The burger was OK but the shake was like drinking plain milk with whipped cream and drizzle of flavouring over it. One Oreo was cut in half and jammed into the cream. I think the caramel flavouring was sparingly just squirted inside the mason jar for decoration and that was meant to flavour the milk. The ice cream scoop under the pile of whipped cream was not creamy ice cream but watery ice confection with icicles and added nothing to the drink at all. Overall it was tasteless and bland. So disappointing. I really don't know what all the excitement is all about.
