It is one of... read more This restaurant is truly a hidden gem. Despite not dining out for over a year, I was amazed by the ambiance, music, staff, and food at this place. It is one of the most charming places I have ever visited, even before the lockdown. The owner was incredibly kind and even surprised my husband with a birthday cake. The pulled pork tacos were some of the best I have ever had - I know it's a bold statement, but I stand by it. We also enjoyed a delicious wine selection and a beautifully presented meat and cheese board. The atmosphere and music perfectly complemented the food, making it an unforgettable dining experience. I cannot praise this place enough - do yourself a favor and enjoy a glass of wine and some tacos here, it will make for a wonderful day.

Extremely impressed by the food and service, as well as price point in contrast to the negative reviews here, which were upset by prices “for a small city”. You get what you pay and that means the best smoked chicken in Texas. The whole chicken is a great value as it comes with vegetables. I had the cauliflower salad and Veggie Tacos. The flavors in the salad were amazing and not something I could replicate at home so much worth the money. Living in Texas I eat tacos weekly and thought the vegetables tacos are among the best due to the freshness of the ingredients. The staff was friendly and accommodating to answer all our questions and stay open later so we can place an order. I will definitely return and recommend Al Campo. ignore the one-star reviews that expect a small town to have cheap food. The Marfa food prices are the same with Austin, Dallas and Houston if not better quality.

Tried the AC board, albeit it was definitely on the pricier end, the presentation and the flavor of all the different items were great. The short rib over cheese grits(? , it was the special for the day item, was absolutely phenomenal! The meat was super soft and tender, slipped right off the bone and full of flavor. The cheese grits underneath was subtle enough that it didn't overbear the ribs, again paired together it was just delicious. It needs to be added as a permanent item on the menu. Definitely an interesting spot and worth stopping by if your visiting or passing through Marfa.
