Old World Gingerbread Village

The Gingerbread Village is an excellent spot for breakfast or lunch. The food is freshly prepared to order, and the menu offers a nice variety. The service is friendly and exceptional. Be sure to try the large cinnamon rolls—they're a must! It's also a great place to stop if you’re traveling in a camper, with ample long parking spaces available.

We recently discovered that the Gingerbread Village has reopened. It's run by a wonderful, friendly family. All of our orders were quite good, with some being exceptional! I had the Reuben, and it was top-notch. Our friends also mentioned that their gingerbread was excellent. They serve breakfast all day, and one friend enjoyed a delicious omelet. However, the menu on this page is outdated and inaccurate. I'm looking forward to trying more dishes soon!

Your food tastes like when you go to your favorite resort. I haven't been there since 2004-2005.

Two important points to note: This restaurant is situated in Mapleton, not Walton. It's now called Pop's Gingerbread Smokehouse. I visited today with my cousin. I had eggs and sausage with grits, along with a freshly baked cookie. My cousin ordered the largest breakfast burrito I've ever seen! He said it was delicious, but he could only manage to eat about a third of it. My meal was simple yet satisfying. The service was friendly, attentive, and prompt. It's a charming, old restaurant nestled in the forest, and I would definitely return.

I have always loved coming here after a trip to the coast . great childhood memories of the warm gingerbread and ice cream . tasted just as good as an adult.
