Peerie Shop Cafe - Lerwick, Shetland

Food was delicious, extremely fresh and tasty. Friendly staff, however we found the method of service unusual. We were asked to order at the front then sit upstairs until our order number was shouted out, we then came downstairs to collect our scrambled eggs and coffee which were in takeaway containers (unusual) and used paper knives and forks to eat upstairs. It felt a bit wasteful and we found it very confusing as we’d asked to eat in.

The Perrie Shop Cafe, Campbells Close, Esplanade, Lerwick ZE1 0LL. We came in near the end of the day and most stock was sold out. We ordered a latte and ice latte both of which were really nice. Great coffee beans used, we were able to get the last two home baked cakes both of which were tasty and reasonably priced. Staff were friendly and would go back here no problem.

I do not get what other people are raving about. I did nót have a good experience. I came here at 9.30am for breakfast and almost everything was already sold out. In addition, the food I did have was expensive and not filling (3.80 pounds for a little bun with bacon. How is that an appropriate price? (2.25 pounds for a bit of orange juice coming from a package . Furthermore, it was very cold inside the shop and there was limited seating space. A good thing was that some of the staff were very friendly. However, another member of staff was just rude (the woman with short, red-painted hair . Also, they do not even have a bathroom. I would not recommend to go here. Unless you go for just a coffee, then it should be fine.

Great place to grab breakfast in Lerwick. Friendly staff, good lattes and tea.

Great place to hide out when the rain poured. A warm welcome, great coffee and delicious food. Fairly basic seats but everything else was excellent
