Trading Post - Kettering
Trading Post
Description
The Trading Post offers a mixed dining experience, garnering both praise and criticism. While many patrons appreciate the spacious, clean venue and attentive staff, concerns arise regarding the quality of the carvery. Diners report overcooked potatoes, tough meats, and inconsistent service, with some feeling unwelcome. However, others commend the variety of well-prepared meals and the efficient atmosphere, especially during busy evenings. The pricing, particularly for drinks, raises eyebrows, but many conclude that eating at the Trading Post can still deliver satisfying moments, highlighting the importance of timing and preparation for a great meal. Overall, it remains a venue worth considering.

I always choose this restaurant for large family gatherings because the carvery is top-notch and the service is friendly. I have never been disappointed.
It was my birthday on a busy Sunday at this restaurant. It was bustling, likely due to it being the end of the month, but all the staff remained composed, including the lone man carving the meat. He could have used some assistance at the counter. Despite the long wait in line, the food was delicious and we didn't feel rushed at all.
We were waiting over an hour for our food and when we asked how long we were told they hadn’t got 2 of the meal orders. They did give us complimentary desert but it was overall not a great visit.
Having been to the Trading Post many times before I was looking forward to my visit. Sadly I was disappointed, the carvery was awful, the beef I could only describe as slimey, it was in edible, the potatoes were black and the gravy brown water. Such a shame as it usually very tasty
This charming pub offers a variety of delicious meals. The staff provides great service, although I must mention that during my second visit, there was very little meat left on the carvery station. The scraps left were served without any fresh meat being replenished during our visit. Considering it was midday, one would expect a continuous supply of meat to ensure customers receive high-quality food.
