The Thornhill Arms - Kettering
The Thornhill Arms
Description
The Thornhill Arms presents a varied dining experience, with highlights including well-cooked meats and generous portions, particularly with their praised carvery and turkey dinner. However, inconsistencies mar the overall impression—some dishes are undercooked or bland, while service can be slow and inattentive. Guests have noted both pleasant and frustrating encounters with staff, ranging from friendly service to rudeness. While the atmosphere is often vibrant and inviting, it appears the restaurant struggles with maintaining consistent food quality and service efficiency. Overall, it’s a place of potential, requiring attention to detail to fully realize it.

The food at this restaurant is excellent, served in a vibrant atmosphere. The staff are attentive and friendly, and the dishes are incredibly delicious, fresh, and flavorful. I highly recommend dining here.
We enjoyed a delicious afternoon tea at this restaurant. The sandwiches, cakes, sausage rolls, and scotch egg were all fantastic. The staff were attentive and friendly. We will definitely be coming back for lunch.
Sunday lunch was delicious, beautifully presented, and well organized. Although it was busy during this popular dining time, the staff managed everything exceptionally well. The outdoor seating area is lovely, offering a breathtaking view of the surrounding countryside.
Went for a carvery and the vegetable selection was awful. Burnt Parsnips, green beans and cauliflower Cheese. That was all the selection we had for an expensive cost. Left and went elsewhere.
The lady serving us told us a dessert was sold out and proceeded to lick her finger at our table and wipe across the chalk board to rub it out. I think that’s just disgusting and off putting. Not very welcoming. No excitement and professionalism when serving customers. Food was okay for value.
