Pollo Campero - Kenner

Tasty, but not a ton of food.. I got the 1/4 grilled chicken meal with dark meat. The chicken was a little small for the price, but it was tasty and nicely seasoned, so I didn't mind. The campero beans were flavorful. It also came with plain corn tortillas that got cold really fast I didn't touch them. I would definitely go back again to try more menu items. It's nice to have something different; this place reminds me of Pollo Tropical when I visit Florida. Also, the service was super friendly.

Worth The Wait!. As with all new eateries, there is a line especially with a business new to the area. I assure you, it is worth the wait. I ordered two pieces of the Fried Chicken, which was moist and tender. While there, a corporate representative made the rounds, asking everybody their opinion. He asked if I had tried their grilled yet, as it is their pride and joy. When I mentioned this was my first visit, he offered me a piece of their grilled, and was adamant I let him know what I thought before leaving. I was blown away, as it was more flavourful than the fried, especially after utilising the lime wedge that accompanied it. When I mentioned that it was awesome, he thanked me, and being told I wished him luck with the place, he mentioned that he hopes the same. He mentioned that the wait is due to wanting everything to be fresh when served, there are no heat lamps, so after sitting for 12 minutes, it is thrown out. Also, he expects the lines to smooth out after a couple of weeks, as the employees get used to the equipment. Pollo Campero, is currently looking for a site on the West Bank. Goodbye KFC Grilled, hello Pollo Campero!!!!!

I'm from South Texas and I have never tasted such delicious chicken before! I've visited three times, and it's always super crowded. Don't let the wait deter you; it's definitely worth it. I did have to wait a while to be served, but we need to understand that the food is that good. Let's not criticize a place that's always full. Everyone deserves a chance to taste and share their feedback. My only suggestion would be to consider getting a larger space with more staff.
