Pollo Campero - Kenner
Pollo Campero
Description
A vibrant fast-casual spot serving well-seasoned grilled and fried chicken, flavorful sides like Campero beans, and standout fried chicken tacos. Staff are bilingual and warmly attentive, and freshness is prioritized—no heat lamps, so food is made to order. Popular and often crowded, waits are common but rewarded with moist, flavorful chicken and reasonable prices. The atmosphere evokes Central American street food with lively music and Spanish spoken among guests, making it a welcoming alternative to typical fast-food chains.

I'm from South Texas and I have never tasted such delicious chicken before! I've visited three times, and it's always super crowded. Don't let the wait deter you; it's definitely worth it. I did have to wait a while to be served, but we need to understand that the food is that good. Let's not criticize a place that's always full. Everyone deserves a chance to taste and share their feedback. My only suggestion would be to consider getting a larger space with more staff.
Quite good. I usually favor small, family-owned restaurants over chain establishments, but this one is an exception. Having just moved to the area and settling in, I was looking for some quick food. The staff is friendly and courteous. I've dined here a few times, trying something different each time, and I've always enjoyed my meals. The atmosphere makes me feel like I'm in Central America, with the music and most of the customers speaking Spanish to the staff.
I absolutely love the fried chicken tacos! I've tried the soft tacos multiple times, and I'm always impressed. The staff has been friendly and welcoming every time I've visited. I highly recommend giving it a try!
Great fast food! Pollo is an excellent alternative to KFC and McDonald's. The staff is friendly, and the food is reasonably priced. As a non-Spanish speaker, I felt very comfortable since the staff is bilingual. Highly recommended!
Worth The Wait!. As with all new eateries, there is a line especially with a business new to the area. I assure you, it is worth the wait. I ordered two pieces of the Fried Chicken, which was moist and tender. While there, a corporate representative made the rounds, asking everybody their opinion. He asked if I had tried their grilled yet, as it is their pride and joy. When I mentioned this was my first visit, he offered me a piece of their grilled, and was adamant I let him know what I thought before leaving. I was blown away, as it was more flavourful than the fried, especially after utilising the lime wedge that accompanied it. When I mentioned that it was awesome, he thanked me, and being told I wished him luck with the place, he mentioned that he hopes the same. He mentioned that the wait is due to wanting everything to be fresh when served, there are no heat lamps, so after sitting for 12 minutes, it is thrown out. Also, he expects the lines to smooth out after a couple of weeks, as the employees get used to the equipment. Pollo Campero, is currently looking for a site on the West Bank. Goodbye KFC Grilled, hello Pollo Campero!!!!!
