Lobster has no place being on a menu in the South, whether its spiny lobster from the gulf (unlikely) or normal American lobster from the Northeast. Very expensive too I had 2 appetizers for my meal (both 18 dollars each) and got 3 fried green tomatoes (which were cut razor thin) and some calamari that tasted underwhelming. Overall, you could definitely get better for the price, and the atmosphere didn’t make up for it. Maybe someone from NY or MA would think its divine

They have daily specials in additi... read more Great food with great service. When on Kiawah Island and want to try something other than resort food, give this place a try. They have daily specials in addition to a menu that already has a variety of selection. The portions are healthy so prepare to bring some leftovers home. The steak and potatoes were delightful, as was the she-crab soup. The price point aligns with that of the rest of the island so no surprise there. The gentleman who assisted us, John, was just wonderful; very welcoming and helpful. Will definitely return the next time we’re on the island.

We had stopped to look at the menu many times on trips to Freshfields and finally decided to give it a try. We reserved a table on the patio and brought our dog with us (pets are allowed on the patio). The menu is extensive and I had trouble deciding on what to eat. The french onion soup was hot and delicious. I followed that with the mussels which were savory but I had so many that I ended up bringing some home for lunch. My husband had the lump crab stuffed shrimp appetizer and Mahi both specials of the evening and said they were excellent. The staff were experienced and pleasant although their was only 1 waiter for all the outside tables (slowed things a little). The warm bread they serve is excellent and I was disappointed to find out that it's baked in house and I couldn't buy a loaf. We left stuffed we'll definitely be back.

The halibut dish was exceptional, and the combination of rice and beurre blanc sauce was incredibly flavorful. Each bite offered a burst of deliciousness. The spinach was so tender it practically melted in my mouth. The host, owner, and wait staff were all very attentive and courteous. The only downside was the presence of mosquitoes on the patio, but the ambience was so enjoyable that it was a minor inconvenience. When I mentioned it to our server, they quickly brought out non-fragrant repellent. We will definitely be returning to this restaurant again and again.
