Loved it. Staff were in complete control on what was a busy day. They also made me laugh which is a priceless element of good service.

Hebden Bridge was the first town in the UK to ban plastic bags, it sits comfortably nestled in wonderful Lancastrian hills and the houses are mainly grey

This place looked really inviting from outside and had a nice atmosphere inside. We both had a chai latte and each had a slice of cake. The cake and drinks were lovely. But, the attitude of the young lady who served us left a lot to be desired. She was quite abrupt and left you feeling like you'd really put her out to have to serve you. We were on the point of just saying to leave it and go. I don't understand why people are like that in the service industry.

I’ve been going to Mooch for many years and the atmosphere is always cosy. Service varies a lot depending on the current crop of staff, on my most recent visit they were friendly. The menu hasn’t really changed in the last decade for better or worse. In fact the only thing to ever really change are the prices which are now what I’d call London level. £12 for a small latte and a piece of cake is a lot! Many of the mains are well into restaurant price levels for decidedly café grade food (bit of salad and crisps with a burger or bagel that’s cost most of £20! . I appreciate prices everywhere are up, but Mooch is well above the average locally.

Beautifully decorated cafe, however we found the service was slow, waited 20 minutes for 2 flat whites and after being told that our drinks would be bought to our table, I could actually see our coffees on the counter, the server had walked past them 3 times so I just got them myself
