Chapter 17 offers a delightful dining experience with good food and a welcoming ambiance. The renovated restaurant, known for its vegetarian mezze and Merlot, has a cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. While some guests found the seating arrangements tight and noisy, others were impressed by the diverse menu, French wine selection, and excellent service. The beautiful decor and dog-friendly policy add to the charm. With tasty dishes like soft shell crab and octopus, along with delicious cocktails like halloumi and tapenade, Chapter 17 is a local gem worth revisiting.
The service was excellent, with a diverse menu offering plenty of fish and vegetarian options. The French wine selection was enjoyable. Our waiter was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting. I highly recommend this restaurant.
The restaurant has fantastic food, a great atmosphere, and delicious cocktails. The staff is excellent. I absolutely love this place. And the halloumi, mini burgers, and tapenade are all delicious. Yum!
We were seated in a corner on the ground floor, possibly due to the busy atmosphere. The noise level in the restaurant was quite high, making it feel crowded and uncomfortable with limited space between tables. The staff had a hidden dog that they let out when the restaurant quieted down, which made me nervous due to a past bad experience with dogs. The food was overall very good, although the meatballs were slightly hard. Unfortunately, two dishes we wanted were not available, which was disappointing. Additionally, parking was difficult and we don't plan on returning anytime soon.
Just great food and ambiance. I always have lunch here when I visit. The restaurant was refurbished by a television show in the last year. We shared a vegetarian mezze and a carafe of merlot which followed a prosecco. We had a range of tasty dishes which we thoroughly enjoyed. They will close after Christmas. Looking forward to coming back in the not too distant future.
Bright, friendly and efficient service. The belly of pork was cooked to perfection (body tender and well seasoned, crackling removed to ultimate crisp) and enough to feed 4. I wish I'd had room for delicious sounding desserts. The S African red was decent it would have been good to have one more wine by the glass.
