Reviews - The 3 Compasses
Reviews summary
Nestled in the heart of East London, a pub once celebrated for its hearty burgers and exceptional ales has recently undergone a transformation. While many patrons reminisce about its simpler, laid-back menu and the accompanying charm of friendly service, the introduction of a more complex selection has left some feeling disenchanted. Despite this shift, the pub maintains a vibrant atmosphere with craft beer options and occasional live entertainment. For burger enthusiasts, the quirky offerings and freshly crafted flavors still draw in the crowd, though some loyal customers yearn for the homely experience of yesteryear.

I had a pleasant, brief visit to this restaurant at the end of January. They had a good selection of real ales, with a craft range that matches it. The prices are reasonable.
This fantastic pub in Dalston offers a great selection of beers and shows everything from football to popular series like Game of Thrones. The staff is helpful and the atmosphere is cool, making it a must-visit spot in East London.

Historically, this pub was a real favorit of me (at least a 4.5 ; a chilled iondon pub with a large selection of ales, a simple but tasty Burger menu (with free chicken and pork, service with a smile and all without the influence of many east london. we often drive here to meet friends for a weekburger and pint. So imagine my disappointment when we visited this week to discover a new, pretentious menu that needed us to get our smartphones to look for some of the ingredients. (there is no mention of free meat on the new menu, I asked the barman about it and he looked confused so that I can't comment. when our food arrived...read more
Original fry up material, often for short, do some seriously good things with burgers. known for their mobile street food ambulance, and for serving some of the most annoying breakfast (not to mention and ei muffins) london has to offer, they have been around since the end of 2012. it is only natural, then, with breakfast success under their belts that their attention to burger in form of a residency in the 3 compasses pub in dalston. and that is where this Burger story begins. price: cheesy burger £6.50 fries £2.50 presentation: easy. the burger comes flat, lid on. it is properly proportional and smells fantastic. toppings: very good....read more
Making a great veggieburger is tricky. dry, stodgy, bland. a whole mushroom; are some cakes that are often associated with disappointment (veggie) burger. the three compasses are totally boss. brioche buns, juicy and spicy patty, and fried cale on the top! there are only 4 main thing on the menu and they are all burgers. only one of them is veggie that usually upsets me quite, but his too tasty for that. also the homemade pommes and the chili claw are so good and they have 4 ales. beautiful mood, good music and the aforementioned props to eat.
I came here last night at 6pm to watch the rugby game which started at 8pm. It was dead when we were there with some reserved tables and a few unreserved. We were seated at a clear table and ordered drinks and food. Groceries came out at separate times and mine hadn't arrived when a member of staff came over with a group and told us we had to move because we were sitting on a table that was reserved with another one next to him. There was no sign to tell us that our table was reserved and we were not told it at the reserved table at any point. The member of staff then lied to the group and said we said we had to leave eventually, which never would have happened while we were elsewhere. I never get the chance to eat there as I then had to get a refund before my food arrived as they were so eager to give our table to this other group. I will not waste money here again. I've never been treated so badly by a staff member in a pub. There are so many pubs in this area but I would recommend the Prince George if you want good food and nice staff we go there and got a great table and excellent food straight away!
The burgers are some of the best I've had in London. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Live around the corner and love this pub, the food there makes it even better.
