What Justin Leslie likes about Martone:
A simple, good quality Italian café centrally located in Edinburgh. We weren’t sure if we’d stumbled into a tourist trap when we sat down here, but we were pleasantly surprised by what was on offer. I particularly enjoyed an ortolana salad and my dining partner had an excellent roasted hazelnut ice cream. Service was friendly and efficient, and so overall we’d recommend Martone if you find yourself nearby. View all feedback. What Nannie Gleason doesn't like about Martone:
Really bad service and food. I ordered a plain crepe with a side a Nutella and banana and a hot chocolate. Since they couldn’t sell me a banana I went to the store next door to get one. The waitress wouldn’t let me eat it...inside the restaurant. I am lactose intolerant, so I ordered the hot chocolate with soy milk, would not recommend; flavorless. The crepe was hard and cold to when served. Not coming back. View all feedback.

Despite initial doubts, diners were pleasantly surprised by the delicious ortolana salad and roasted hazelnut ice cream. The friendly and efficient service only added to the positive experience. The restaurant is highly recommended for those in the area. Featuring a whole female team, this restaurant is a hit with families and children. The meatballs and desserts were particularly loved by the younger diners, who even wanted to come back the next day. The staff was friendly and helpful, making the dining experience welcoming and enjoyable. The food was also top-notch, with generous portions and delicious flavors. For those seeking a cozy inner-city dining experience, this restaurant is a hidden gem. Visitors rave about the excellent pizza, friendly staff, and amazing ice creams. The affordable prices and extensive menu make it a great choice for a lunch outing. With a cozy interior reminiscent of family-run establishments in Rome, this restaurant was a hit with diners. The delicious bruschetta, kalamari, cannelloni, and Panna Cotta were highlights of the dining experience. The friendly staff, delicious food, and reasonable prices make it a must-visit in Edinburgh. Despite minor hiccups with table sizes, this restaurant remains a favorite for many visitors. The incredible food, especially the ice cream, and the attentive staff make it a worthwhile dining destination. Whether you're in Edinburgh for a few days or just passing through, this Italian spot is definitely worth a visit.
