Hops Rye - Dubuque

Our server was very friendly but we waited over half an hour for our food. Apparently, the chef had a family emergency, which while I feel bad for, the restaurant needs to have a backup plan so the server doesn't have to go down to finish the food for customers that already ordered while they turn other custmers away. I witnessed them have to cancel an 8 party table and turn other people away. Staff was great and apologetic but they need one more person on site who knows how to cook the menu or an alternative plan in the kitchen when something like this happens, especially on a Saturday during lunch. I hope if/when I come back, it'll be better.

This restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating. The waiter was so friendly and attentive!! Our waiter was honored with recommendations for the first timers in this restaurant. The food was amazing, I will be back and recommend to others! I love supporting locals.

Good food, good drinks of service was great! I think the bartender was Fiona, our waiter was Will. The peach ring martini was amazing!

Yum! We usually go at night for Covid take out but ran in for Covid lunch take out today…absolute best tuna melt ever!! We haven’t tasted anything we didn’t love yet. Our daughter swears by the veggie burger but it is always a tough choice over their spaghetti squash. Definitely part of the best restaurants in Dubuque bracket.

Never have a complaint. The people, staff and customers, there are friendly and welcoming, better than Cheers. Good is amazing done by a talented chef. Drinks are always exceptional and made to order.
