Reviews summary
Hops Rye has garnered mixed reviews, highlighting both exceptional service and culinary delights alongside occasional frustrations. While many patrons applauded the friendly staff and diverse menu, some experienced long waits and inconsistent service. A standout feature is the venue's vibrant atmosphere, complemented by delicious options like crab-stuffed mushrooms and tuna melts. However, reliability during peak times was questioned, particularly when staffing challenges arose. Despite these hiccups, many suggest that Hops Rye is worth a visit, especially for large gatherings, promising tasty food and a welcoming environment. Never have a complaint. The people, staff and customers, there are friendly and welcoming, better than Cheers. Good is amazing done by a talented chef. Drinks are always exceptional and made to order. View all feedback.
What Urban Kulas dislikes about Hops Rye:
Our server was very friendly but we waited over half an hour for our food. Apparently, the chef had a family emergency, which while I feel bad for, the restaurant needs to have a backup plan so the server doesn't have to go down to finish the food for customers that already ordered while they turn other custmers away. I witnessed them have to cancel an 8 party table and turn other people away. Staff was great and apo... View all feedback.

Came here in late summer of 2019 with my sister and my cousins (girls trip). It was a blast. The food was delicious just want I needed. If I lived closer I'd love to come back and try more of the menu items drinks. Thanks for a great meal
We had been out on a walk and decided to stop in and see if they offered a dessert. The server said they did so we took a seat. That was the best part of our experience. The server was less than attentive and too familiar with everyone. She kept referring to people as guys . Hi guys. What can I get you guys. My husband asked if he could get coffee to go with the dessert and she said she would be right back. Almost 10 minutes later she came back and told us it would be 20 minutes for them to make coffee and did we still want it. We ordered the chocolate mousse dessert that came with whipped topping and a raspberryerry sauce. I asked about the whipped topping and she said it was made fresh in house. When we got the dessert it would have been perfect for Halloween. The raspberry sauce was splattered all over the place like blood. The whipped topping was so sickeningly sweet that you couldn 't even taste the chocolate of the actual dessert. While we were eating it she came by and dropped our check without saying anything. She then came back 2 minutes later and picked it up and looked inside and saw there was no card in it and said oh, whenever you 're ready . So no coffee, terrible service, and the actual cake was the only enjoyable thing. Please note there were only two people at the bar, one table that was already there before we were, and one table that came in approximately 15 minutes after we did. I 've been in the service industry since I was 12 years old working for my mother and this was horrible. We won 't go back to try food or cocktails.
It's a beautiful restaurant with great food ! The patio is great for outdoor dining . Drinks and some entertainment specials
Hipsters with man bungalows and servers without knowledge of rye. I asked the bartender for a few recommendations from which to try rye, and the guy was unclear. The waiters have a too cool for you setting and the place tried to portray a talking mood, and it just felt like it was trying to be too hard to be trendy. A certain place to avoid in Dubuque IA.
