Cafe blackbird is delicious! I had potato soup and an iced lavender latte. One of my favorite places and the staff is so nice!
Best place for lunch and then have dessert and coffee. Family owned and charming location on Main in Denison! Their in-house bakery, makes cakes, and cookies everyday! Their chocolate chip cookie is better than any I've ever had and I've tried them all!
The service is 5+ stars cheerful, efficient and helpful. So far I've tried the turkey cranwich, the chicken salad and the Greek salad. All were excellent. The chocolate cake is okay. The buttermilk pie had almost no flavor and the crust was cardboard.I'll be back for the sandwiches!
I'm not quite sure how I first discovered Cafe Blackbird, especially since I live in Lubbock, but I immediately followed them on social media because the food photos were so appetizing. I had planned to drive 160 miles to visit when they were still located in Quanah, but I never made it there. Finally, last Friday, while I was visiting my sister in Dallas, we decided to check it out since we were only 70 miles away now that the restaurant has moved to Denison. I was NOT disappointed. We both had the tomato basil soup; I ordered the Greek sandwich while my sister had the Turkey Cranwich. For dessert, we shared the blueberry coffee cake and Hummingbird Cake. Everything was delicious, and the service was excellent. It truly exceeded my expectations! We spent the rest of the day exploring the antique shops, making it a lovely day in Denison. I can't wait to dine at Cafe Blackbird again soon.
