What a gem, arrived had drinks, atmosphere was so welcoming, lovely staff, there was no rush. Food was beautiful, ordered a bottle of rosé and we all admitted it was the best wine we have tasted. Its restored my belief that you can go out for a wholesome meal.
I haven't been able to go out much due to battling breast cancer, but I wanted to share my experience at this restaurant. It was my son's birthday and we decided to have Sunday lunch as a special treat. I was extremely impressed with everything - the food, the service, everything was amazing. This used to be my go-to spot before some difficulties arose, so I am eagerly anticipating another visit. Thank you to the staff for being understanding and not asking too many questions. Lots of love.
We have enjoyed delicious meals at The Whyte Melville over the years, but this review focuses on an unpleasant encounter with the owner, Jeremy. Despite booking a table for two at 7pm the previous day, we arrived to find that Jeremy had us down for 8pm. When we reminded him of the options he had given us, Jeremy became aggressive and denied ever offering us the 7pm slot. This confrontational behavior was unnecessary and disappointing. It seems that we are not the only ones who have experienced Jeremy's poor attitude, as other reviews echo similar sentiments. If the owner's rudeness continues, it is likely that customers will take their business elsewhere. Jeremy would benefit from attending a customer care or anger management course to improve his interactions with patrons.
We went to this restaurant for my wife's birthday with our family. We started with drinks in the garden before moving inside for our starters. However, two of the ladies in our group found their main meals to be overcooked halfway through. When I raised this issue with the manager, their response was that we should have mentioned it earlier and they couldn't do anything about it now. This lack of customer service and caring attitude has left us with a negative impression. We will not be returning and would not recommend this restaurant to our family or friends.
