We have visited this restaurant multiple times and the food is consistently delicious. This time was no exception - the food was excellent. The fish pie was exceptional and the gammon steak was also very tasty. It's unfortunate that the restaurant was not more crowded. The prices for wine are fair and the restaurant is conveniently located just 10 minutes from Kettering.
This charming old country inn is well-decorated, despite the narrow steps leading up to the restaurant. There is a large carpark on the side, as well as some parking spaces in front of the inn. The initial reception was a bit indifferent, as we were offered drinks before being shown to our table. The waitress was friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and well-presented, with a varied menu selection available. The prices were very reasonable.
I have been to this restaurant many times and it always seems to be busy, which is a good sign. I booked a table for lunch at 12:45. The restaurant bar was not too crowded. They had a good selection of beers and soft drinks available. There was a bit of a wait after ordering, but it was definitely worth it. The portions were very generous and the Fish and Chips and vegetarian roast were top quality. It seems to be popular with the local farming community as the car park was full of Range Rovers. I will definitely visit again.
This is possibly the worst pub I have had the misfortune in entering. Rude, unwelcoming staff, unpleasant experience. Would have complained in person but we were pretty much ushered out as the pub quiz was a 'sold out event '. Surprising really, given the quality of service, that anything in this place could be sold out? People skills maybe need to be encouraged.
