We had preordered from a div... read more We had a fantastic lunch for a group of 11, and we were all thoroughly satisfied. Everyone enjoyed their main courses and desserts. We had preordered from a diverse Sunday menu. The service was outstanding, and the staff were all very friendly. The Compton Inn successfully maintains its local charm while offering delicious food, which is quite impressive for a small rural village. I would highly recommend it!

I enjoyed a rich, sweet soup accompanied by thick slices of warm bread, followed by a delicious lamb burger topped with root mayonnaise and served with sweet potato fries. I finished off my meal with a delightful honey ice cream served in a crunchy shell. It felt like a special treat for Valentine's Day!

From the outside, it may appear closed due to the doors being shut, but don’t be fooled. It’s also clearly a charming local spot, as the owner of a dog who joined us on our walk was well-known here.

The... read more I recently visited this local pub/restaurant for the first time and found it to be quite pleasant. It was exceptionally busy, likely due to Remembrance Day. The service felt somewhat disjointed; one staff member behind the bar could have been a bit more friendly. However, once the food arrived, it turned out to be a good experience overall. Price per person: £10-20. Food: 5/5. Service: 4/5. Atmosphere: 4/5.
