NJ doesn’t have as many Vietnamese cuisine compared to Brooklyn/NYC so I’m used to a different flavor. I can see how this place attracts other people in different aspects— service is great, neighborhood is nice and quiet, and the interior is inviting and comfortable. The menu is simple and easy to read. However, this spot serves mediocre Vietnamese cuisine relative to my experience with eating it in other ethnic neighborhoods in Vietnam. I tried the Chicken pho it was decent but definitely over seasoned with sugar salt(idk how that’s possible). The chicken was dry but it covered with soup so I’m not sure how they did that. First time ordering here. Ordered the duck bao buns, Vietnamese salad with basa fish, and Thai Iced Tea which were all decent. The bahn mi wasn't really toasted well and it was soft. But oddly enough, half of it was burnt where you could see the blackened part, and it was salty. The pad thai had a weird smell and taste, so had to throw it out. I wouldn't go again. I shared the fried rice with my toddler, and it was the most disappointing fried rice I’ve ever had. First of all, they serve your food in a plastic container even when dining in. Everything came wrapped in a paper bag, so I had to unpack it myself. The food itself looked unappetizing. Although I ordered fried rice, it wasn’t even fried; the rice was nearly watery with a bland, soggy texture. It seemed like they just mixed everything with some sauce. My toddler, who usually eats well, refused to have more after just one bite. I threw it out after eating only a quarter of it. There are no servers—just two cashiers who were on their phones the entire time and seemed completely uninterested in the customers. The service was terrible, and I regret tipping 15%. I will NEVER go back! Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $20–30 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3
When I walked up to the counter, I noticed a House Special Noodle sign and asked the staff there what it was. Both of the staff wasn 't sure and couldn 't give me an explanation of what it was. Not only that, but they didn 't seem to really care to find out. I got The Original sandwich, Deconstructed Banh Mi Salad, and the Banh Mi fries. The salad and the sandwich were good, however the fries were very soggy and hard to pick at. I would say it 's more of a fast eat kind of place, but wouldn 't come back to dine-in. There’s much better pho not too far from here for about the same price. Very fast foodie atmosphere and a little over priced for the quality and protein quantity in their pho. Staff doesn’t seem to put much effort into pretty much anything but then again they look high school kids so I wasn’t expecting much for service.
