In a tiny village called Singhampton we experienced a strange and wonderful destination dining experience. The almost legendary Chef Stadtlander has hand created an environment that is both alien and quaint - in the middle of rural Ontario. The cuisine is fresh and whimsical, and the servings and presentations are surprising and delightful. Completely out of the way and out of the ordinary. Highly recommended for adventurous seekers of local and innovative fare.

A friend told me about this place and I didn't even know it was there! I've driven past it a hundred times and if I hadn't been told to look it up I would never have done so. The outside does not do the place justice. It is overgrown and to be honest a little disheveled but on the inside it is at the very least interesting. Lots of wood and hand carving, old wine bottles repurposed as light fixtures and bar ornaments, pottery snakes (or are they dragons?) worm their way across the ceiling and walls, clam shells as candle holders,..... lots to catch the eye. We were there for lunch and the menu is a little limited but the calzone that we split was excellent. I asked for it with speck added and it didn't come with it (hence the 4/5) but I was not billed for it and the pizza was delicious without it.Very well worth a visit.
