Small menu but absolutely delicious. Pizzas made with toppings pulled right right from the garden and with Eigensinn speck. Grab some treats from the bakery while you're there. View all feedback.

The building itself is fabulous and worth a stop - everywhere you turn there is a new construction/decor feature to admire. Lunch service was terrific. The food was tasty, but not so exceptional to deserve the prices being charged (good food, but not mind-blowing). We shared 3 dishes and they all tasted pretty much the same. Expensive. In a tiny village called Singhampton we experienced a strange and wonderful destination dining experience. The almost legendary Chef Stadtlander has hand created an environment that is both alien and quaint - in the middle of rural Ontario. The cuisine is fresh and whimsical, and the servings and presentations are surprising and delightful. Completely out of the way and out of the ordinary. Highly recommended for adventurous seekers of local and innovative fare.
A friend told me about this place and I didn't even know it was there! I've driven past it a hundred times and if I hadn't been told to look it up I would never have done so. The outside does not do the place justice. It is overgrown and to be honest a little disheveled but on the inside it is at the very least interesting. Lots of wood and hand carving, old wine bottles repurposed as light fixtures and bar ornaments, pottery snakes (or are they dragons?) worm their way across the ceiling and walls, clam shells as candle holders,..... lots to catch the eye. We were there for lunch and the menu is a little limited but the calzone that we split was excellent. I asked for it with speck added and it didn't come with it (hence the 4/5) but I was not billed for it and the pizza was delicious without it.Very well worth a visit.
Just dined at the relaunched Haisai and what a treat! Superb food, accomplished cooking but not fussy using the freshest of local ingredients. The pea soup was simply sublime, piglet so tasty on a plate beautifully balanced and a wonderful fresh apple strudel. The restaurant is a visual delight with hand crafted decor - such fun. Can't understand why on Saturday evening the restaurant was not packed it's a gem and should not be so hidden. I'll be back soon.
I am a fan of what Michael & Nobuyo Statdlander do up in Grey County. But I can now say that I am a fan of the development of Chef Ming and the rest of the Team at HaiSai. I was with two friends, who are new to HaiSai and they both were blown away, as was my wife and I. Everyone loved the food, the service an of course the setting. We are blessed to have it close by!
