I live in the neighborhood and feel lucky to have this restaurant close by. The filet mignon and rack of lamb are consistently excellent as are the fish/seafood specials. I'd choose the meat dishes they serve over any comparable restaurant in Bethesda. The owners are warm and welcoming. I've been eating at Persimmon for years and there's is ample reason I continue to see the same people eating there year after year.

The Food is flavorful and well presented. The service is very friendly and attentive Have visited numerous times and have never received anything but excellent service. The ambiance is unassuming but warm. Furthermore, has a very convenient parking area right behind the restaurant. In summary kudos to Saif, Zaki and the crew. This restaurant is a must visit in this area and, in my opinion, the best value when one considers the excellent quality vs. the reasonable cost. As another reviewer stated, the restaurant is under new management; however the experience remains the same as ever.

Nothing ma... read more I am so enjoying that the new managers of Persimmon have added lunch service hours, as I personally would rather have a good lunch than a big dinner. Nothing makes my day more than a well prepared lunch. My favorites here are the Hanger Steak and the Nicoise Salad with seared Tuna or their fabulous Shrimp. The new owners have maintained the quality of service set by the founders. Persimmon is a holdover from the age of Bethesda's era of great chef-owner restaurants. I think that keeping up with friends and business associates by meeting at Persimmon for lunch can't be beat.

Last night?s entree was below sub par. The day?s catch was trout . When it arrived, it was clear that the trout was dry and overcooked .. Ditto the shrimp ?as the few pieces of shrimp which were part of the entree were tough,tasteless and overcooked . , The pieces were so small that I could not find them . My daughter liked her filet , which arrivedas she chose . Fortunately the tuna tartare appetizer was as tasty as I had remembered from past visits . I did not inform myvery nice waiter of my immediate dissatisfaction with my entree since it ruins the meal for both diners? one eating at one timewhile the dissatisfied one waits for some kind of gustatory replacement. When I called for a reservation the managementinsisted that the choices for a dine inside option were either 5:30 or 8:30?. would not even permit a reservation for 5:45.!Yet when we arrived on time and throughout our meal , there were many empty tables . Perhaps the shrimp were left over from theprevious night .. or (just guessing) my daughter?s filet took longer to cook as my trout languished over a heat lamp. This was a great experience and was close to our hotel. I would recommend that you get a reservation. It was a fun place to eat. I will beback!!!!! Also, Zacky was an amazing server. Thank you!!!!
