The Mad Batter Restaurant Bar
The Mad Batter Restaurant Bar
Description
The restaurant offers a variety of vegan and vegetarian options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, making it a great choice for those with dietary restrictions. While some dishes like the tofu scramble and fries fell short, the white bean raviolis with tofu were highly recommended. The service, particularly from a server named Jen, was exceptional, making for a fun and enjoyable dining experience. The restaurant's Prix Fixe menu for special occasions received mixed reviews, with some diners preferring simpler options. Overall, the atmosphere was charming, and dishes like the vegan crab cakes and white bean ravioli with tofu were highlights. The restaurant's commitment to offering vegan options in a meat-heavy area like CAPE MAY was greatly appreciated.

Lively and busy but worth the wait. We enjoyed a midweek breakfast in June. We got there shortly after 9 and there was already a short wait. On our way out though, it seemed like the block was filled with groups families waiting around to get a seat. After our meal I can definitely see why that is the case. Service was fast and friendly. There is a laid-back relaxing feel toit and the decor gives the place it's charm. Kids are welcome, definitely a family-oriented spot. Having a little one, Iappreciated that the bathrooms are private. All these pros and I haven't even mentioned the food which was delightful. Tastypancakes ???? ???? ! Great bacon ???? ???? ! Yummy eggs ????! Plenty of options. A must visit when in the area.
Love this cute breakfast that I got! I ordered the egg and cheese bagel sandwich without bacon and home fries. The sandwich was delicious and super filling. Definitely worth going there for breakfast with your significant other or family. My boyfriendloved it as well. I sat outside, it was basically half inside half outside seating area, so you weren’t directly in the sunand had fans running up above. I definitely need to go there more often now, and it was priced nicely too! Go out to the MadBatter and get yourself a nice breakfast for the day!
Loved it!!! Drinks, food service, all great!! We got seated quicker then the 20 minute wit we were told which is always nice. I ordered the Thick Sliced Orange Almond French Toast with a side of Home Fries. The flavors of the french toast werefantastic unlike any other french toast i've had. It didn't bother me but it is definitely not thick sliced as shown in thephoto but still filling. The home fries (which I take my breakfast potatoes seriously lol) were amazing seasoned very nicelyand a good portion size. I also ordered a mimosa which was very good for the price. Would love to return if I can!
The only thing good was the name and the server. The drinks were not the best in Cape May. Our seats were next to another table about an arms length away whilst the porch had 3 tables occupied. The server was really nice and attentive. The dirty martiniwas a little dirty. I had the bees knees which had a strong lemon flavor and a not so clean lemon twist in it. The turkeysandwich was average. It was a little dry despite the sauce and cheese on it. The penne vodka with added chicken wasunderwhelming. Very average tasting sauce with a little bit of chicken on the plate. This place only got these many stars forthe server.
The had a great beer/drink menu but the food was just ok. Got the crab cake sandwich for my entree and the patty itself (although good in taste and favor) was really tiny compared to the bun it was on. More bread, lettuce and tomato than crab cake. The fries were great since they were made from fresh potatoes and little sea salt. Food did come out quick and the waitress wasvery friendly.
