My husband and I were looking for a locally owned restaurant that had good food and a friendly atmosphere. We found that at Marko's Kitchen. We were served quickly and the food was hot and delicious. We started with Marco's Rolls. The pastry was flaky, the meat was seasoned just right and the homemade cheese was creamy. The pork schnitzel was lightly battered and delicious, the homemade fermented cabbage was fresh and crisp. We are planning to go back and try some more items. It was a wonderful dinner. Nothing good to say about this place. At the entry I found table by myself, no menu or drink offered. The young lady brought glass of water and said nothing. Later she brought goulash that I haven’t ordered. When I said that I didn’t have a chance to order anything, she argued that I said goulash at the entry and she can’t return already prepared food. Actually, I asked at the entry if they serve lunch, she just said yes. When chef, probably owner, asked how I like goulash I said that I haven’t order it. He asked me if I want something else and I said that I would like to try chevaps. No drink offered except one glass of water, I couldn’t wait to go back to my car to take more water, was so thirsty. I went to the counter asked for recommendation for desert but young lady busy with her phone said everything they have is in the fridge. I got some kind of pouding in the plastic container. It was average but I like creamy deserts. After waiting at my table for a while I packed, took my chevaps and went back to the counter to pay the bill and I was charged for two main courses $40+, even for the goulash that I haven’t ordered. I got Starbucks coffee on my way back to the hotel and ate chevaps in my hotel room. I wish I had a chance to try their turkish coffee.
The service was excellent from the owner, he was talkative and passionate about his restaurant. We ordered the burak and schnitzel (on special) we also got Marko's rolls and some wine to drink. For dessert we got a slice of black and white cakewhich was very tasty, not too sweet with an expressive cocoa flavour. Overall a very good experience and great service. A greatfirst impression from Marko's kitchen !
Decided to go there based on their high rate. The restaurant ambience is very average. The hostess was very nice. We ordered Markos roll for the appetizer. The filing was fine but no something you want to try again. Cordon Bleu was their best dish wetried but didn't have a wow factor. The burek was soggy and oily. The BBQ platter was the worst dish of the night. Nothinggourmet about burgers, below average. Extremely salty sausage. Chicken was average. Chevapi was fine. The pork loin wasok. Overall the food was very greasy, too expensive for the quality, and only focused on quantity. They serve home made foodwhich you appreciate if you are invited to their house. Sorry Mario's kitchen, don't want to be harsh critic, just wish yousuccess and hope you find ways to make the restaurant better To support the family business we will visit them again. I hopethey also work on the food to change it restaurant worthy
