On the other hand, many have praised the food quality, portion sizes, and friendly staff. With a varied menu including items like haddock, fish cakes, and battered sausages, this establishment appears to have potential. What Gemma P dislikes about Simon's Fish Chips:
Used several times previously and been very impressed. Told others to use this place but very let down tonight with having to wait over 30mins for our order only to find it was given to another customer. Fryer man was quite rude about things but the lady was helpful and apologetic. Food was nice but maybe a better system for orders I.e take names or give numbers View all feedback.

Disappointed by the chips, which tasted like they were fried in old oil, many of which were simply inedible.

Outstanding! Nice little area to sit outside and eat, too.

Grubby premises, staff were grumpy, chips were bad, soggy, alot of black bits and oil tasted off. The battered fish was edible thankfully.

We stopped on our way back from a lovely dog walk along the coast and had the best fish and chips ever! Lovely outside seating area too that dogs are welcome in too.

Didn’t want to post a bad online and went to them direct a couple of weeks ago with no response. I ordered fish and chips as I only live a couple of roads away as recently moved so was hoping to have you as my local chip shop. Unfortunately, the fish is SO overcooked and dry- I’ve never had fish from a chip shop like it. The batter actually scratched the roof of my mouth. The wait was quite long as there was only one person infront of me and there was clearly tension between the man and woman behind the till. I’m sorry but I won’t be returning or recommending.
