However, upon arrival, we were greeted by a rather unfriendly looking manager who did not give off a warm or inviting vibe. We ordered a bottle of wine, only to be told they didn't have it and he recommended another. When it was brought to our table, we were asked if we wanted him to pour it. In a restaurant that claims to not be a hotel restaurant, I would expect the waiter to pour the wine and offer a taste beforehand, especially since it was a recommendation. The meal was average, nothing extraordinary. My husband requested vinegar but was given mayonnaise and was not provided with a steak knife for his steak. No one came back to check on us. We were then asked twice in rapid succession if we wanted dessert, but we needed time to let our mains settle first. There were only 3 or 4 main items on the dessert menu and we both wanted the chocolate fondant, but they were out of it as well. This was particularly frustrating since there weren't many items on the dessert list for them to have prepared. We were offered chocolate brownie instead, but we declined. I observed another table order ice cream and it was served in its container in a bowl! To make matters worse, they then expected us to pay a 12.5% service charge automatically added to the bill. I would not recommend this restaurant nor would I return.

The food was excellent, and the staff, from the skilled bartender who made our cocktails to the attentive and friendly waitstaff, and finally to the cheerful chefs who prepared a beautiful meal, were all fantastic. I can't wait to come back to this hidden gem soon.

James an... read more I really enjoy this restaurant... The steaks are fantastic and they have the best olives... But tonight I decided to ask the chef for a recommendation. James and Jerry both suggested the lamb shank... It was incredible, tender and flavorful, and the sides complemented it perfectly. It also looked amazing. My wife ordered the stonebass and it was also delicious. I was too full for dessert, but she enjoyed a panna cotta. The service was top-notch. We had to leave early because our 10-week-old baby needed to go to bed, but we will definitely be returning to this restaurant.

We went at 12:00 and there were just two other people in the restaurant, they were also there for afternoon tea. I requested a vegetarian option when booking a week in advance. The sandwiches were tasty, but there were only two filling options (egg mayonnaise and hummus). The non vegetarian option had four different sandwich fillings. There were two fruit scones each, they were a generous size and were served warm. The ‘cream’ was actually cream cheese. My husband didn’t notice but it made for an interesting flavour profile. The other table sent back their cream cheese, the waitress apologised but brought out more cream cheese. We watched the drama unfold from our table, it turned out they didn’t have any clotted cream so a waitress was being dispatched to get some. There were four cakes per person, which is pretty generous. We asked for a box to take the cakes home and the staff were able to accommodate. WE paid $90 for dinner to eat few bites, bland wet cardboard no flavors. We went to a 2nd dinner to enjoy our meal instead around the corner. AVOID THIS FOOD, beer is basic if you like flavored water...... Food: 1 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
