Tip Top Savory Pies - Boulder

Normally it is fun to discover a new and unique restaurant. And while this one boasted gourmet handheld pies, there was something missing. I chose the steak and ale pie. The crust was delightfully crisp and well-browned, but the filling contained large chunks of steak, a few peas, and a rather bland sauce. Overall, the pie was ok but flat on seasonings. At the least, it could have used more than a little salt and pepper, but there was none on the tables or anywhere else.My wife chose the beef ragu pie, which she also found lacking in seasonings. The beverage options were somewhat limited as the establishment is waiting on additional licensing. The pies, which should be their calling card, lackedfinesse and flavor.

While visiting in the area, we came across Tip Top Savory Pies. Not only was the staff very personable, the pie was delicious!

I was tempted to try the classic chicken pie, but opted for the Cauliflower Tikka Pie instead, and it was absolutely delicious and unique. I would highly recommend it! It was sweet and warm on the inside, with a buttery, crispy crust on the outside. Thank you, Tip Top!

This place is simply amazing! You absolutely have to try their dishes! The comfort food is fantastic, and they have a lovely outdoor patio perfect for a night out. I'm thrilled to find New Zealand meat pies here in Colorado—I've really missed them!

The savory pies are delicious, and the ice cream and soda flavors are incredibly unique! The service is friendly and quick, and the secret off-menu hot sauce is simply outstanding—so spicy and delicious that I genuinely want to buy a bottle! Also, thank you for introducing Hokey Pokey ice cream in the U.S.! It's fantastic!
