Some customers have complained about issues with the pick-up process, long wait times, and underwhelming food quality, while others have praised the food and the charm of the chef. The restaurant offers a private tatami room for special occasions, and serves delicious hand rolls. The sushi is described as good but not exceptional, and the atmosphere is casual. Overall, it seems the restaurant may be hit or miss depending on individual experiences.
The food can be really great and the staff can be nice. I’ve been in here a few times over the months and the wait times can be quite sporadic. I went for a pick up that wasn’t ready when I arrived. It took an additional 30 or so minutes. I asked if I could leave and get a refund, but they convinced me to wait. No gestures of kindness, just a sorry and forgetting to give me chop sticks somehow. This was just for 2 orders of sushi rolls, nothing extravagant. Not sure I can recommend this place on the service but the food is OK. I think Boulder has better with similar prices and more consistent service.
Delicious sushi from experienced and professional (but friendly) chefs with seating at the bar (if you want to make the sushi through small glass window dividers on the counter) as well as the tables (if you want a traditional seat in the atmosphere). There are also many delicious non-sushi options from the kitchen- my partner (a non-sushi garden) got chicken yakisoba and she loved it! would definitely come back
The sushi tastes good but not great. Sushi can be costly but this was more than expected for the quality. The inside space is tight with tables very close to each other. It's a very casual environment and not high end.
Called at 8:10 pm to place a pick up order on a Friday night, was asked to hold so they could check if we 're still doing pick-ups ... They close at 10 pm. Order wasn 't put in, so I 'm writing this as I wait for my sushi to be made, as if I walked in and placed the order, you know, the exact opposite of a call ahead process. Hopefully the food is worth it. Update: it wasn 't. This was a $19 sushi roll that looks like a $5 grocery store roll, never been more disappointed with a restaurant in my life. This is a meal you eat over a trash can or a sink in a rush, not a dinner.
It's such a sweet spot from the pearl street. Loved how authentic it was and our server was very helpful. Only complaint was that the spicy tuna roll was too sharp, the spices overtaked the taste. I still want to come back and try more :
