The reviews for the restaurant in the hotel bar area are mixed. While the food is described as bar food and not very appealing, the drinks and ambiance of the bar were praised. Another reviewer mentioned that the holes in the wall restaurant with good vegetarian options, despite the lackluster ambiance, has good food especially their sandwiches. Additionally, a Christmas buffet had mixed reviews - bland turkey and ham, but a good wine list and nice service. However, Chuck's Steakhouse received overwhelmingly positive reviews for their excellent food, great service, and pleasant ambiance. A must-visit for steak lovers in Banff.

We found this to be one of the only restaurants open for Christmas. It was not crowded and the food was alright, though nothing to write home about. There were not many people so I guess they couldn't lay out the Presidential selections. We were happy with the buffet and glad to find a place open on Christmas. Service was good for a reduced staff. The wine list was good. It was a bit pricey for what we got, buffet food, turkey, ham and overcooked steak, we like rare and the nearest thing to that was (not even pink in the middle). Turkey was dry and so was the ham. Seemed like everything was prepared the day before and set up with the minimal staff. If they tried a little harder it could have been second class.

OK for a lower end hotel restaurant, hard to really mess up breakfast especially with a buffet, but service on a not busy sunday morning took over an hour. I should have researched more then just taking the reservation as this was not the type of restaurant we intended to go to.

The place is in a hotel bar area, so the food is sort of bar food. I ordered an appetizer, a BLT, and some cold milk. The street tacos were dry and pretty much lifeless! Defiantly would not order them again. My BLT sandwich cam with fry's that were very good, but the sandwich, even though the bread was perfectly toasted, was dry and lifeless as well. Glad I ordered the milk to wash it down with! The bar was clean and the drinks that were being prepared for others looked good. So I would recommend this place for drinks and not the food...

All chefs (and chefs if you know what I mean) seem to prefer raw bacon. Limp. They never seem to notice all the crispy bacon in the buffet line gets eaten first. CHEFS! May I have your attention, please!? We non chef people like crispy bacon! Please! Oh, and, for all you health conscious people, crispy bacon actually has less fat in it.

What a fantastic discovery! I was looking for a relaxed spot to take my son in a stroller, and this place was perfect. There’s plenty of space, and the bartender is one of the friendliest people I’ve ever encountered. I ordered a glass of wine and a charcuterie board while waiting for my husband, and the board arrived quickly and tasted amazing.
