Description
Lucile's is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. For breakfast, diners can enjoy classic dishes like eggs ponchatrain with pan-fried mountain trout, potatoes, and a sauce bearnaise, as well as eggs New Orleans featuring fried eggplant slices, poached eggs, hollandaise, and a spicy Creole sauce. For lunch, Lucile's serves traditional Cajun dishes such as shrimp and grits, red beans and rice, gumbo, crawfish etouffee, and chicken Robicheaux made with strips of chicken breast sauteed with white wine, mustard, onions, cream, and green capers.

After waiting forever to eat at Snooze every time we have out of state visitors, I didn't think I would be content to wait for any other breakfast joints.
Lucile's is not a true Southern-style restaurant, despite its attempts to be one, and unfortunately, it falls short. I've dined here multiple times, hoping to understand what my friends see in it. The beignets are dry, the French toast is surprisingly watery (I still can't figure out how that happens), and the rest of the menu is, at best, mediocre.
You can choose from an array of breakfast selections like Eggs Benedict, a Four Cheese Omelet, or opt for something more traditional such as the Cajun breakfast, featuring a hearty combination of eggs, red beans, and grits, or The Eggs Pontchartrain, which includes pan-fried trout and poached eggs topped with a tarragon-infused Béarnaise sauce.
