Ada Cafe - Berkeley
Ada Cafe
Description
Tucked inside an office building, this cozy hidden gem offers standout homemade Thai tea, tasty banh mi, coffee and smoothies at affordable prices. Fresh ingredients, friendly, efficient service and quick call-ahead pickup keep a steady crowd; a few tables and outlets make short work sessions possible. Note limited seating and no restrooms, and there have been reported sanitation concerns — excellent flavors that come with a caveat for hygiene-conscious diners.

The food is great when it's open, but there have been times when I've gone there and found it closed—like today.
The cafe owner is fantastic. The prices are reasonable, the drinks are great, and they serve the best bánh mì in all of Berkeley!
December 2021: I finally remembered to snap a photo of the Thai tea before I finished it! Still incredibly tasty—10/10. Even on a rainy day, this place maintains a cozy and welcoming atmosphere! January 2023: Just an update: the food is still amazing! While some prices have increased by 60 cents to a dollar, it’s still worth every penny. All the ingredients are fresh, and this is probably my favorite homemade Thai tea in the Bay Area. This place truly feels like a hidden gem, and the owner remains as friendly as ever—12/10!
Good cafe for quick bites. They have outlets and a few tables so it's a decent place to work or chill for a bit. They don't have restrooms which is kind of a bummer. The server was really kind and friendly and I would come back just to say hi to him.
