(if you don’t have towel, the total price will be 1,330 yen) there are 5 kinds of pool inside and one outdoor pool, some are not as hot as i expected, but still a great experience!

It had been raining during our time in beppu but we arrived at hyotan hoping to book a private bath. We got a booking for an 1hr and 45mins later which gave us enough time to have a meal and then let the food settle before it was time for our bath. It was so tranquil and relaxing! And everything you need was in the room. Definitely a highlight of our three week trip!

I went for lunch and i had the toriten teishoku. I came back for dinner. : you can also come only for the restaurant and hang out at the lounge.

This onsen facility is naturally fed from a hot spring and has a sand bath, an onsen waterfall , sauna, and outdoor onsen. It also has an on-site restaurant. I found all the facilities to be very clean and in great condition. I came on a Friday early morning/afternoon, and it was not too crowded. Plenty of native Japanese which indicated to me that this was indeed a great facility. If you 're looking for an onsen in the onsen capital of Japan, book this place now in your itinerary! It is close enough to for easy access but farther away from Beppu 's city center so that it 's not uncomfortably crowded with all of us tourists. Cash Only. Parking available. Transit was easy from Beppu Station with either the Oita Kotsu bus or the Kamenoi bus. I did not have to walk more than 10 minutes.

The pri... read more We come here to get the private onsen. It is located near the many hells of beppu jigoku. Only 15 minutes walk from one of them, but i forgot which one. The private onsen was nice, it has all the amenities in the room and they have a small steam room inside and open air bath. You can check the price from one of my photos. The downside is the toilet is hard to find and there is not one inside the room.
