This restaurant is a little hidden, but it is worth it. The food is exceptional, in taste, price and quantity. The owner is so friendly, and with Western and Japanese seating we felt totally inclined. If you're in Beppu, go here, you won't regret it! View all feedback.
We ordered Taco rice with seasonal soup, Hamburg with fog and a rum-Raisin-sash for dessert. From the two I prefer the flavors of the Taco rice, including the side salad, dressing and salsa it came with. The Hamburg wasn't bad either. Especially delicious, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Beautiful relaxing atmosphere and a pleasant owner. Menu in Japanese with limited English.

This restaurant is a little tucked away, but it is entirely worth the trip. The food is exceptional, in taste, price, and quantity. The owner is so friendly, and with both Western and Japanese seating options we felt completely tended to. If you’re in Beppu, go here, you won’t regret it!
This is a tiny cafe with only three tables located inside the owner's house. Getting here requires going way up into the neighborhood up the hill, which can be a long walk. But it's worth it (and works up an appetite! . The menu is small but entirely vegan and the options all seem really good. I ended up going with the taco rice and miso soup; definitely a winning combo. Lots of veg, beautiful presentation, great taste. It's run by a very friendly woman. I mostly communicated in Japanese here, but she was willing to speak in (somewhat limited English as well. Definitely stop in if you're in Beppu. Makes for a great meal after the hot springs.
