Sushi Lover - Appleton
Sushi Lover
Description
Sushi Lovers offers budget-friendly all-you-can-eat variety with a traditional Japanese vibe, clear menu labeling, takeout deals and lunch service. Regulars praise value, large portions and some attentive servers, while the menu spans sushi, hibachi and teriyaki options. However, guests report inconsistent freshness, tempura and “fishy” rolls, sanitation concerns including an allergic reaction and an on‑site vomiting incident; management sometimes issues partial discounts. Service and parking vary, so it’s best for casual groups seeking variety but inspect takeout and raw items carefully.

The food was good, but the service was god awful. A table that got there after us got their order taken and food served before our server even came and introduced herself. She was quite rude the whole time and barely came to take more orders. We’ve been to the Sushi Lover in Green Bay before and it was night and day compared to this. Our server there was attentive, and even though it was busy, she always had our future orders lined up so that our wait time was not very long.
As for parking, it can be a bit tricky since the restaurant is located downtown in Appleton, especially in the evening.
The waitress who served us was not very attentive. She took our order but frequently forgot some items. After clearing our plates, she left quickly, giving us no opportunity to order more sushi. We ordered two servings of an appetizer but only received one. After a long wait, she finally came to check on us, but by then she had forgotten about our food, even though it was sitting right there, ready to be served. The food was excellent, but our experience would have been much better if the waitress had been more attentive.
While I believe you can't compromise on sushi quality, this place is definitely better than most all-you-can-eat sushi options I've seen. If you're not a fan of raw fish, they clearly label which items are cooked, raw, or spicy by listing ingredients in their rolls. For those who aren’t fans of sushi, they have a wide range of options like hibachi, teriyaki, yakisoba, fried rice, and more. What I appreciate most about Sushi Lovers is its charming traditional Japanese ambiance. In contrast, Akame feels more like you're paying for the atmosphere, with its pretty anime wallpaper, while Sushi Lovers focuses on providing larger portions and higher quality at a better value. Overall, it’s a lovely place for a date, lunch, dinner, or even a casual visit in your pajamas—suitable for any occasion. **Vegetarian Options:** They offer various veggie dishes clearly listed in the menu, and if you kindly request, they can adjust any ingredients to accommodate your preferences. **Kid-Friendliness:** They have high chairs available for kids, though I don't often see children dining here. However, they do offer a kid's menu featuring favorites like corn dogs, fries, and onion rings.
