I had a wonderful dinner at this restaurant! I always travel with cards in several languages that explain that I have Celiac disease and what requirements I need for the chef to know when preparing my meal. The waitress took the card in German to the kitchen and came back with suggestions of what could be prepared safely for me. I ordered cheese fondue that included GF bread, potatoes, pickles and petite onions. I also ordered the pork steak with “Rosti” potatoes and vegetables. My husband and I shared the meal. Our check was which included a couple of glasses of wine. I had no illness from my delicious meal.
Romantic Hotel Julen: We had a very nice dinner here. A bit on the expensive side, even for Zermatt, but worth it. We had the lamb shank and the seared duck breast. Both were excellent, except I didn’t get a sauce on the duck as though the chef couldn't bother with coming up with something to substitute for the non GF sauce. This was disappointing. I did get warm gluten free bread, and this was a plus. Service was even slow for Switzerland (2/5); we waited an hour for our entrees. The salad bar was quite good, albeit expensive.
Quite a delicious meal! They serve a good range , especially the lovely lamb and sides. Upscale restaurant. Are upstairs. They were very careful about cross contact for my son who has celuac
