Delicious freshly cooked game dishes. Staff treated customers as in they were in their own home and were happy to adjust the make up of dishes as required.
We were in three people. The three diferent plates that we ordered was delicious. Well cooked. And Lúcia was very nice.
Kinda tucked away down the back streets a bit, this is a good little place for fish, service is friendly in a non-in-your-face kinda way, a good place to do fora quite dinner that is not so touristy.
This place was recommended by our hotel staff with the appropriate expectations set (i.e. local bistro food, not fine dining) and is located off a street near the train station so it’s easy to miss. We had the deer filet special from the seasonal menu that included tomato soup and dessert for 42 CHF which was both good quality and a good value based our 7 days in Switzerland. The wine list was also reasonably priced and both our waitress and the proprietor made sure we were pleased with our meal. Consequently our dining experience did not match some of the criticisms from earlier reviews.
Thanks to the exchange rate Zermatt was very quiet this year but I'm not sure that that completely explains the total lack of customers at the normal dinner time. There were a few non eating locals at the bar as I entered and left but no other customers made their presence felt. The service was excellent and friendly and the venison fillet tasty but there was an end of summer season atmosphere overall.
