There is a song about this place Simply the best, better than all the rest . My husband and I go quite often with family and friends and we have never been disappointed. Today we were in St George 's Bar and were looked after by Eddie and Rob who were helpful, friendly and really welcoming. Eddie kindly gave us a map with the history of Stanbrook Abbey. The restaurant is excellent too for Sunday lunches or evening meals for fine dining. Stanbrook Abbey itself has a wonderful relaxing atmosphere and we agree with previous comments that it is as good as any 5 star Hotel. If the world is getting to you then get away from it all in Stanbrook Abbey it is as good as any tonic. We had a lovely trip to Stanbrook Abbey. Jem was particularly helpful in showing us around. The food in the bar was great and we were very well looked after at the bar by Matt and Lewis.
