O Bistro - WOLFEBORO
O Bistro
Description
O Bistro blends modern, renovated charm and a barn-event venue with warm, personable service and a chef-driven, seasonal menu. Generous starters, creative drinks and fresh-baked bread impress, and the pub and dining rooms suit families and celebrations. Inconsistency can mar visits: some mains are fatty or undercooked, buffet items have been served cold, and service lags when busy. Overall it’s a beloved neighborhood spot worth trying—best on off-peak nights or for special occasions when staff and kitchen can shine.

I visit O'bistro several times each month, and I always see the manager, Jenn, during my visits. She consistently looks fantastic—well-dressed and always sporting a warm smile! The waitstaff are incredibly hardworking and seem genuinely happy, demonstrating their respect and appreciation for Jenn. I've seen Jenn working alongside her team on numerous occasions, whether it's serving food and drinks, clearing tables, or even making omelets during the Mother’s Day brunch! She excels at her job, ensuring that every guest enjoys a perfect experience. The food and drinks at O'bistro are consistently delicious, and the atmosphere strikes a wonderful balance between relaxed and upscale. You can arrive however you like and feel comfortable, whether you're dressed formally or casually!
**Ambiance:** The place has been nicely renovated and leans towards a modern yet charming atmosphere. **Service:** The host and waitstaff were exceptionally friendly and attentive. **Food:** Unfortunately, the dining experience was a bit of a mixed bag. The ciabatta bread was delightful, especially with the honey butter, and the presentation in a bag was a cute touch. The Buffalo cauliflower appetizer was very tasty and not overly tangy. However, the main dish—short ribs stroganoff—was quite disappointing. There was too much fat left on the meat, making each bite a torturous chewing experience. I couldn't finish it. As for dessert, the peach cobbler was undercooked, with the peaches still hard.
We had reservations for 10:30 AM on Mother's Day today. The buffet presentation looked appealing, but unfortunately, it seems someone forgot to turn on the Bunsen burners, as most of the chafing dishes were cold. The meatballs, prime rib, mac and cheese, sausages, undercooked red potatoes, green beans with carrots, and French toast were all served cold. It was quite disappointing, and the shrimp on the Bloody Mary had a fishy odor. I wonder if the food is prepared elsewhere and brought in, as we noticed a van with their name in the parking lot. This will be our first and last visit to this restaurant.
Very mediocre tonight. Seem short staffed the bartender was covering most of the pub room and didn't have time to make drinks for the other waitresses guests so we all waited until the bar tender had fully taken care of all her tables. Wanted to sit at the bar but were told we needed a reservation for bar seats? When did that start O's never took reservations for the bar. And the seats remained 1/2 empty as waited, and ate and finished up. The hostess showed up at 6:30 and didn't seem interested in how anything was with all the guests she never approached anyone to check in. Needless to say I was super disappointed. At least our waitress finally just got our glasses of wine for us herself since the bartender clearly had no intention of getting to us. Won't be going back soon, at least not this winter.
