We both had the same main course of battered fish which was... read more They have a Dinner special of 2 courses for $16-95. We availed ourselves and we're not disappointed. We both had the same main course of battered fish which was so lightly done with a crisp batter. The chips were chunky, hot & very tasty. The tartare sauce was full of flavour. A delicious salad was included. Our dessert was sticky date pudding with a strawberry & cream. It was delicious with just the right amount of sauce so you didn't run out prior to finishing. A very delightful experience.

Booked here for the Saturday night for a special Father's Day dinner for my husband and I and two adult children. When booking I was advised that we had to attend prior to 8pm, so I made our booking for 6.30-7pm. I presumed the restaurant would be busy. Usually on arrival guests are seated in the bar/ lounge area and drinks served, however we were led straight to our table. Service provided has also declined, it's the little things that make a difference. When being seated our serviettes weren't even placed on our laps, I found this strange for a supposed upmarket restaurant. Entrees were delicious, two of us having the pear with scallops, however main course was a big let down. Steaks ordered medium rare, one was more medium and the quality of the steak was just not there. For approx $40 for steak with seafood I expect decent quality. My husband ordered the venison, which was undercooked and chewy. The waitress apologised for the venison saying the chef agreed it was undercooked, and offered free dessert, which my husband declined. Slow service with drinks. On paying they advised us they did not charge for the venison. Would not return to this once upmarket restaurant, you get better quality steaks for a lot less $$$ at some of the local pubs. Restaurant had plenty of empty tables even as we were leaving, so I cannot understand why we were required to book for an early time.

We wanted a romantic night and that was exactly what we got. There was no rush to feed us and turn the table over, it was our table all night. And prices very reasonable, amount of food perfect. My favourite place in Wodonga/Albury now, and will definitely be going back. Try one of their cocktails on arrival in the lounge area in front of the fireplace - beautiful.....

The wait staff wore unconventional clothing and did not seem to follow any sort of dress code. I even witnessed one of our wait staff making a rude gesture towards the kitchen staff. My double cheeseburger was the worst I've ever had. We might return in a few weeks to see if things have improved, but I am not optimistic.

However, at 10:30 pm we were unexpectedly asked to leave the pub, even though we were all still sober, as they were closing the pub except for the pokies, which were being closed at 2:30 am. It was disappointing that the pub closed with customers still drinking and spending money. We were also not allowed to enter the pokie room unless we were actively playing. This sudden end to a great night left a sour taste in our mouths, and I personally will not be returning. On a positive note, the hotel where we all ended up made a significant profit that night.

My wife ordered a Gin and soda water, but there was no carbonation in the drink. We later found out that they were aware of this issue but did not inform us. It would have been simple for them to get a few bottles of soda water from a nearby store for a very low cost. I ordered a beer which was flat and not very cold, which was disappointing for a pub. My wife's pizza had a cardboard-like base that seemed no different from a store-bought pizza. The price we paid should have included a freshly-made base. My chorizo and tomato penne dish was overly seasoned and drowning in sauce, not meeting our expectations for the price we paid. The wine list was disappointing, with only one choice of Sauvignon Blanc available at a price higher than what you would pay for a bottle at a store. When we tried to order drinks from the front bar after dinner, the promising wine list was not actually available. Due to these experiences, we will not be returning to this restaurant.

After sending it back the new one they sent out was stone cold in the middle the server then proceeded to try and spin something qbout it being the cut of meat but as I am a chef I simply told them that's not the issue. The issue seems to be the chef brigade as the chef that was on the pass allowing the first steak to go out medium to medium well when it was supposed to be rare is deplorable in of itself. Me and my family will never return as a result of this and suggest people avoid this place.
