This is a fantastic spot for a weekend getaway. The rooms are clean, albeit a bit worn, but overall, I believe it's worth it. The beer and hospitality are exceptional, with a great selection available just across the street. While the menu could use a little more variety (missing items like Cumberland sausage and Lakeland lamb), I highly recommend the fish and chips and the steak pie. View all feedback.
We visited this pub last weekend, it was just outside our camping site. we thought we would give it a try, but not expected, much as vegan it in the rule only 1 option. this place has an amazing selection the best I saw outside certain vegan sites I was. eating was amazing like the personal. his not only vegan food naturally the cat for everyone and it was so obvious to go for locals. so well we went back on Sunday afternoon and had a great experience again!
I usually don't write reviews on google but decided to leave one for this pub because it was absolutely outstanding! The food portions were ginormous and super super tasty. The staff was very friendly and quick. We had a fantastic dinner here, 10 out of 10. Thanks!

What a beautiful and cozy country pub! We received a warm welcome upon our arrival, complete with a glowing fire from the staff. The food was outstanding, and I highly recommend trying the beer cheese!
This is a very friendly pub featuring a selection of interesting beers from a microbrewery. The bar can get quite busy, as locals often prefer to sit there instead of occupying tables that could be used by those wanting to order food. I didn’t dine here, but the menu looked appealing, with a variety of vegetarian and vegan options. There are charming outdoor seating areas on both sides of the road, as well as a small covered section that provides shelter from the sun, wind, or rain. It’s a fantastic spot to visit during a walk or after a hike up Scafell Pike. If you’re planning to have dinner, I recommend making a reservation, as it’s quite popular with visitors and campers from a nearby campsite. The pub’s Wi-Fi is easily accessible, which is a plus in an area where phone reception can be spotty.
