Royal Inn
4.5 / 5 (988 reviews)

Description

Nestled in a charming locale, The Royal Inn has garnered a mixed bag of reviews. While some patrons rave about freshly prepared dishes, like the delectable scallops and pheasant casserole, others express deep disappointment with overcooked entrees and subpar service. The friendly landlord and cozy atmosphere create a welcoming environment, despite reports of unresponsive staff and limited menu options. Guests appreciate the beautiful views and the family-run vibe, yet caution against wasted trips when the kitchen falters or the pub is closed. Ultimately, The Royal Inn is a culinary gamble, promising both delightful meals and unexpected letdowns.

We meet this hotel only from mouth to mouth. And we're not happy to have. It's getting those narrow lanes down in a seemingly quiet country, but where do all these people come from? Book, it's not coming! Very good food and a pleasant atmosphere. You need a car (or a friend with one) to get here. You won't be disappointed.

We ate there every night (again) on our recent visit to Beera Farm. We love this place and all location, architecture and furniture, staff, food and drink! It's like going home. Once again, the scallops (which I have lived in three nights) were excellent, as well as everything else. The Grumpy Pizarre 's Cellar is a great addition to the experience!

This pub is run by a family and the owner used to be a sailor, very cozy and even to chat about his adventures back in the 1970s and 80s. The food is delicious and the service is friendly and fast. Do yourself a favor and ask for the pudding. For a long time, the best I've ever tried. You can't have better while in Tavistock and surrounding areas. Highly recommended.

Last night, we went to our nearby pub, The Royal Inn, for a Father's Day dinner. We all enjoyed our meals. I ordered the Hake fillet with crushed potatoes and a delicious assortment of vegetables, including marsh samphire. It was fantastic. My husband opted for...
