Can not wait to go and try out the rest.

I ordered an Entree size as my main and it came out with the other Starters. Sent it back and was told it would be out under the lights. Very poor to say the least. When it did come back out with the mains it was stone cold, the calamari was a little slimy. My friends Caesar salad was lack luster with little flavor and in top was. Cold egg. The other main Salmon was ok. For the price I would have expected better quality. Not sure if I would recommend the establishment again. Even the wait staff was not surprised by my comments. Shame the place could be so nice and as it is one of two main restaurants in the village you think they would be striving for perfection. I know where I will. E going next time when friends come to visit. Not Waves. !!!!!

All our meals came out at different times and while some of the main stays were good the 'vindaloo' special ordered was basically a beef stew with no heat. Disappointed to the point of anger! Love this place because we stay here a lot but they need to sort out the basics of service!

We arrived at 6pm and found the restaurant to be full, but we only had to wait about 20 minutes for our food, which was delicious. The kids meals were generous and the chicken Parmi was huge, taking up half the plate. My salmon was fresh, perfectly cooked, and incredibly tasty. While the price was a bit high at $38, the food was worth it. This restaurant offers exactly what you would expect from a similar establishment in Tasmania - fresh, generous portions at a reasonable price. The location is great, the service was good, and I would happily recommend this place to others.

We r... read more If I owned Shearwater Resort, I would not want to have any association with Waves Restaurant. Our experience over New Year's almost ruined our entire trip. We reserved a table on our first night and ordered three kids meals. The portions were very small, almost cold and dry as if they had been precooked and left out for an hour. One of the meals even had an insect leg on one of the chips. Our main meals were also disappointing. The steak ordered medium-well was almost blue and came with only a small portion of pre-cooked chips. My salmon, which I don't mind being slightly undercooked, was actually still frozen on the inside and just seared on the outside. I ended up getting sick that night. The sweet potato mash was the only good thing about the meal, but unfortunately, that also came back up. It's clear that cost cutting has gone too far at this restaurant. The staff were great, but the food quality was lacking. Overall, a bitterly disappointing experience. I would not recommend dining here.
