We took a spur of the moment trip to DC for a date night. We had a wonderful meal and great service. Left happy and full!
We didn't have a reservation but it was no problem as hostess took our name and number and within 30 minutes we were seated, served hot towels to cleanse our hands and enjoying delicious sushi expertly chef prepared. Apologies for lack of pictures but everything was plated with flair, fresh and so delicious we didn't get any pictures! Very clean restaurant, service was superb.
Exceptional in every way! Unique offerings on the seasonal and fresh items like steamed monkfish liver in ponzu. Freshness and quality of sushi and cooked items were all very evident. Took the family and the kids (and adults) were raving about everything. Had the O Toro (fatty tuna), wild king salmon, Kobe beef over charcoal, and MD shore roll. All were incredible. Server recommended some good sake as well.
I cannot speak highly enough of this restaurant. Host was so accommodating. Service was so great it was almost too much, and that’s a compliment. They had great information on ever fish and dish. SO many selections. The wine and beer is very Japanese, please try.
One of the most famous sushi restaurant in DC though, I personally was a bit disappointed about the taste and the service. It is better than the ones operated and owned by non Japanese chef/owner though.
