1789 Restaurant in Washington DC has received a mix of reviews from diners, with some expressing disappointment in the quality of certain dishes and the dining experience while others have raved about exceptional service and delicious food. One diner was unimpressed with the rabbit roulade and duck breast, feeling they were dry and overcooked. Another diner did not enjoy the room on the upper floor and found the cooking method for the endive to be ridiculous. However, other diners had nothing but praise for their meals, describing the food as some of the best they've ever had and the service as attentive and helpful. One couple even celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary at 1789, loving the Autumn Salad and halibut, despite finding the key lime dessert a bit overwhelming. Overall, most diners appreciated the beautiful ambiance, impeccable service, and fantastic food at 1789, with some mentioning that the experience was made even better by attentive and knowledgeable servers. Despite mixed reviews, many guests expressed a desire to return to 1789 for future dining experiences.
