Notti Bianche - Washington, D.C.

The restaurant has been closed for weeks. We were not registered until we showed up for our reservation.

When we arrived, nobody was there. We went to the restaurant and it was dark with no one to help us. It was obviously closed for the evening, but with him in a hotel, apparently the reception staff had no idea that it was not open for dinner. Apparently no one pointed out that we had a reservation for this evening. They told us to sit and they would find the restaurant staff to serve us, but we just went because who wants to eat in a completely empty restaurant that was obviously prepared for the next days breakfast?

Good place for a pre-concert meal. Interesting facilities for a hotel restaurant; but, it was a bit like eating fine kitchen in a cafeteria environment. The food was worth the price, and the service was top-notch, but the rest of the experience was strange.

It was quiet because THEY WERE NOT OPEN! I am very disappointed and upset. Don’t know if it was a problem with OpenTable having wrong info (the restaurant was closed even though OpenTable posted that it was open and OpenTable ACCEPTED THE RESERVATION and SENT ME A CONFIRMATION), or if the restaurant did not notify OpenTable that they are not open on Saturdays. Whatever the issue, we did not eat at Notti 824. Not sure where the responsibility is for this mishap, but I’m not sure I can trust OpenTable with reservations and I won’t be going to Notti 824 in the future.

Sat outside — which was billed online as “garden” but was actually a few tables along a driveway next to the smoking area. As such we were only people eating there on a gorgeous night so service was awful. Think they forgot about us.
