The food was amazing, the service beyond excellent, the staff was super friendly, the wine pairing was great! Fancy and boring. I sat at the bar and ordered a la carte. Apart from some amuse-bouche on the house, which were mediocre at best, I got a pasta mushroom course, good but nothing to write home about, and an oxe with textures. We sat at the chef's table and utterly enjoyed his tasting menu from start to finish! Perfection! Instead of the wine pairing, we opted, at our server's recommmendation, for a couple of excellent bottles for the three of us. Venue was beautiful, loved their open kitchen concept, and service was fantastic. Will definitely return again when back in DC! Thank you!
Masseria is now one of our favorite restaurants in DC. It's a lovely, interesting space. We enjoyed the 6 course price fixed tasting menu. Each course was delicious and interesting. And the staff was friendly (not in an overly familiar way), knowledgeable, and attentive. It was our anniversary and all of the staff we interacted with recognized our special occasion. They brought us champagne and our dessert plates were decorated with anniversary wishes. It is a special place and I cannot wait to return.

Within the unassuming façade of Masseria is a magical place. We really enjoyed the chef's tasting menu. Unlike other lengthy tasting formats where you live with a mix of stellar and so-so dishes, the progression of plates from Masseria never disappointed. On their way to a second #MichelinStar soon.
