Hank's Oyster Bar - Washington, D.C.

Don't be daunted by how cool this place looks. The staff is very friendly, the drinks are priced below DC averages, and they are really, very good. I usually prefer beer over cocktails, but these are interesting recipes, executed by a dedicated staff, which results in drinks that are a revelation. The food is similarly created, simple, but well done, with pleasant details (tomatillo sauce on the taco's). Finally, the backyard area is spacious, shaded in the evening, with many small tables. In short an ideal beer garden. Another reason to head to the burgeoning Upshur street corridor.

Such a fun night out with friends. Jessica was amazing and kept the fun drinks coming. She didn't even force us to pick something out. After a few questions she made us beautiful surprises. It's also wonderful they let you bring food in from the surrounding restaurants. Perfect spot after a stressful day! Thanks Jessica and Hunter.
