Feedback
The food was decent but not outstanding. However, there were several issues during our dining experience. The online menu mentioned cauliflower soup, but our server informed us that it was no longer available and that the website was outdated. Despite arriving before 6 pm, the only fish dish on the menu had already sold out, which posed a challenge for one of our group members who does not eat meat. Additionally, they served hot tea without a spoon and did not have straws available when we requested one for a soft drink. It appears that there is room for improvement at this restaurant.
We had a great experience at the restaurant. While in town for our annual convention, we made Sixth Engine our go-to spot for at least one meal during the weekend. The food and service were fantastic. The only downside was a loud party at the bar who were singing loudly and poorly to the music playing over the speaker system. We brought this to the attention of our server, who promptly informed the manager. Fortunately, after a while, the noisy performance quieted down. Despite this minor inconvenience, we will definitely be returning next year to enjoy the amazing food and wine selection.
I ordered the eggs Benedict and it was absolutely delicious! The hash browns were also fantastic! Our server, Moe, was the best - funny and attentive. We indulged in the bottomless mimosas and had a fantastic end to our girls' weekend in DC. I would definitely return! The only downside was that my friend's salad was a bit bland and slightly wilted. However, overall it was a good experience!
My waitress was fantastic! The drinks were a great value and tasty! The food was nothing to write home about. They did not use a planchar to make the Cubano sandwich! The omelet was just an omelet.
The clam chowder was delicious. I prefer thick chowder and this is thin but it tasted like real New England clam 'chowda '. The chorizo stuffers are superb! The lobster rolls are exceptional! If you are familiar with Maine/New England lobster and you want to have the real deal, this is the right place to have it. Beer selection is very good, draft and bottles. They have a very nice outdoor seating area. Service is excellent.
